A wonderful little antique Georgian fob pendant from the early 19th century featuring a rock crystal shield intaglio engraved with a previous owner’s monogram on top.
In the 18th and 19th Century Fobs were usually worn as a decorative accessory to go along with a pocket watch. The seal was often engraved and used to stamp a person's signature or a sentimental message or image in sealing wax on important documents.
The fob is cased in 18ct gold and has been intricately detailed with ornate flourishes and patterns. It’s a well-preserved piece of Georgian history, very collectable and perfect to hang from a gold chain.
